A question about Putain de Stade...

Message par alexxx1 »

Hello evryone, I just saw "Putain de Stade". Can you tell me why (to whom?) Nicola shows a middle finger (f*** off) while singing "Playboy"? It's a part "Moi, j'ai du mal avec les artistes. Surtout les Français qui habitent en Suisse"

He's speaking about french singers who left to Switzerland in order to pay less taxes.
There are many but in fact we all know that it is more about Johnny Halliday.

Hallyday :)

"Fucking Stadium" would sound quite good as an album title as well :D

@tanguezo:
Thank you very much for your explanation!
I would never say that it's about Hallyday (and others)...

@dodoz:

"Fucking Stadium" indeed sounds very good :D

Welcome Alexxx :)

I don't know if you ever had a chance to take a listen to either Indochine's rendition of "Smalltown Boy", "Lips Like Sugar" or to Nicola's solo album "Dans la lune...", the way Nicola sings in english is quite amusing - if not baffling at times :mrgreen:

I don't feel like you're being inquisitive :D . I'm from Poland. You may be a little bit suprised but there are few people who really like Indochine. As for me, I even started to learn French because of their lyrics.

@dodoz:

I've never seen this interview before. Indeed, his English is far from perfect (btw: the same goes with some of polish rock/punk bands trying to singing in English :D ) I agree with you on "Smalltown boy" and "Lips...". Perhaps I would also add the first part of "Seasons in the sun". But in this case it doesn't matters - it's one of my favorite pieces.

The "Just Like Heaven" cover is also quite funny :)

@Alexxx, it's a good thing you started to learn french thanks to music and Indochine. It's always a good thing when it's because of music and arts. I have an old tv documentary somewhere on tape filmed in Denmark when Indochine toured there in 1985. Nicola mentions how people in high-school (or middle school, maybe) studied "Kao Bang" in french class :) I'm sure that people in Peru did the same thing, as Indochine had a huge success there in 86-88...

Would you have any polish band to recommend ? :)
